DETROIT – Brian Boyle wanted a piece of Justin Abdelkader after the final horn Sunday, but the Detroit Red Wings forward wasn't biting.
Boyle apparently wanted some revenge for Abdelkader pummeling Tampa Bay's Mike Blunden near the end of Game 2 on Friday.
"I would have liked to fight him," Abdelkader said following the Red Wings' 2-0 victory in Game 3 at Joe Louis Arena. "I'm not 100 percent. I had my hand taped up from last game and from previous games."
Abdelkader said he also was concerned about supplemental discipline from the NHL.
"I asked the ref if I cut him, is it a misconduct, and I already got one, so I got to be careful," Abdelkader said.
