Red Wings' Jeff Blashill will coach U.S. at World Championship again

USA Hockey has tabbed Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill to lead the national team at the World Championship for the second year in a row.

The tournament runs from May 4-20 in Denmark.

The U.S., under Blashill, went 6-2 last year, losing 2-0 to Finland in the quarterfinals. The Americans lost their opener to host Germany 2-1 and then won their next six games before being eliminated.

It was a big tournament for Dylan Larkin, who picked up 10 points in eight games playing center. Larkin said he will play this year, too, assuming he gets insurance, since he has no contract yet with the Red Wings and is a restricted free agent.
