DETROIT, Mich -- Though not coming from the Red Wings organization itself, it was announced that they have reassigned goaltender Jake Paterson from the Toledo Walleye to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
After being traded in his final OHL season from the Saginaw Spirit, to the Kitchener Rangers, Paterson was named OHL Goaltender of the Month, when he posted a stat-line of 7-2-1-0, 1 SO, 2.27 GAA, .929 SV% in his first 10 games with the Rangers.
It's clear to me that Paterson will likely either spend most of his time in Toledo next season, or he will make a push to be the full-time backup for Jared Coreau in Grand Rapids with Petr Mrazek already being graduated to the NHL club.
