Red Wings' Frans Nielsen on goal drought: Can't get frustrated

DETROIT - Frans Nielsen is contributing offensively, tied for the team lead with 14 assists and fifth on the Detroit Red Wings in points per game.

But this is by far the longest Nielsen has gone into a season without scoring a goal (20 games played).

It's weighing on him a little as the Red Wings (10-11-3) take a three-game winless streak (0-2-1) into Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Blues (8-11-3) at Little Caesars Arena (7 p.m., NBC Sports Network).

"I haven't been in this position before," Nielsen said. "You just got to go out there and try to play your game the same every night and hope it's going to bounce your way and it's going to keep rolling.
