The Tampa Bay Lightning are expected to announce later today that General Manager Steve Yzerman will step down from his position with the team, according to a report from TSN Hockey.
If reports are correct, Yzerman will move into an advisory role with the Lightning with one year left on his contract. He'll be replaced by Julien BriseBois, general manager of the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League and assistant general manager of the Lightning.
A source told the Free Press that Yzerman told Lightning players he was going home to Detroit.
