Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson is expected to play in Saturday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche at Coors Field after missing the past five games with a lower-body injury.
Ericsson practiced today with the team at Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett.
“We anticipate Ericsson playing, but we’ll check it after today and see how he was,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said.
Ericsson said he’s ready to go.
“I told coach I can go now,” Ericsson said. “So it’s up to him now to put me in there.”
Ericsson was paired with defenseman Mike Green in practice.
