Red Wings’ DeKeyser coming off ‘elite’ performance

Danny DeKesyer got hit in the face by a deflected puck during practice today, necessitating stitches.

Just another day at work for the rangy homegrown defenseman for the Detroit Red Wings.

DeKeyser had to go to the hospital for repairs, but coach Jeff Blashill expects him to be fine and available to play Wednesday, when the Wings take their two-game winning streak up against the Boston Bruins and their three-game winning streak (7:30 p.m., FSD).

Blashill said Petr Mrazek is starting in goal, and that is the only planned lineup change.

DeKeyser, who missed a few shifts Friday after taking a puck to the face, is coming off of one of his best games of the season, in Blashill's estimation, in Saturday's overtime victory at St.
