The Detroit Red Wings were widely lauded for their haul at this year's entry draft.
That is reflected in at least one ranking of the NHL's top farm systems. The Sporting News ranks the Red Wings at No. 10.
The Red Wings' first four picks in 2018 - Filip Zadina, Joe Veleno, Jonatan Berggren and Jared McIsaac - are among their top six prospects according to Steve Kournianos, who assembled the rankings.
"Isn't it amazing how one weekend at the draft can improve an organization's chances at being relevant again?" Kournianos wrote. "Well if anyone should know, it's Red Wings GM Ken Holland, who in 1989 was part of Jimmy Devellano's staff that produced one of the greatest draft classes in NHL history.
