It's a Sunday game day and the Wings just hit us with some unexpected exciting news. Andreas Athanasiou has been called up to the Red Wings from the Grand Rapids Griffins. Landon Ferraro suffered a sprained knee in Friday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Andreas Athanasiou will make his NHL debut as a result. This is extremely exciting news! Athanasiou had a great pre-season, tallying 7 points (4 goals and 3 assists) in 5 games played. The Griffins have struggled to get any offense going so far this season and in 8 games Athanasiou has a goal and an assist which puts him 5th on the team in scoring.
