Several Detroit Red Wings are within reach of a medal at the World Championship.
The United States, which features Dylan Larkin, Nick Jensen and coach Jeff Blashill, defeated the Czech Republic, 3-2, in a quarterfinal Thursday at the tournament in Herning and Copenhagen, Denmark.
Wings defensive prospect Filip Hronek set up the Czech’s second goal and finished the tournament with three points in eight games.
