Red Wings assign Jakub Kindl to Grand Rapids

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned defenseman Jakub Kindl to the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the team removed Kyle Quincey from injured reserved and placed Drew Miller on long-term injured reserve.

Kindl, 28, has skated in 271 games for the Red Wings since the 2009-10 season, logging 67 points (16-51-67), 145 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating. This season, he has appeared in 23 games for Detroit and posted five points (2-3-5), including his first career overtime-winner on Nov. 6 at Toronto. Kindl has also seen action in 19 postseason games over the past three seasons, notching five points (1-4-5) and 12 penalty minutes.
