DETROIT - Getting benched apparently lit a fire under Andreas Athanasiou.
Since being a healthy scratch two weeks ago in Anaheim, the Detroit Red Wings second-year forward has been on a tear with four goals and three assists during the last five games.
The latest goal was one for the highlights and turned out to be the game winner - the second of Athanasiou's career - in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Joe Louis Arena.
