At 19, Red Wings left wing Dylan Larkin is short on experience but swimming in comparisons.
“What you’ve had here is an anomaly, like it was with Steve Yzerman, where you have a guy that can come in (and contribute),” said former Wings forward Darren McCarty on Sunday before participating in a charity game featuring the Red Wings Alumni Association. “Dylan Larkin, obviously, he has comparables to Steve Yzerman, but he’s going to set his own legacy, and it’s great to see.”
Larkin, a Waterford native who left college for the NHL after one season at Michigan, scored 23 goals in his rookie season, turning heads across the league with his speed and vision.
