Detroit – The Red Wings gave a lot of concerned fans strong tonic Saturday with a high-scoring effort against the Islanders and a 5-1 win.
Tomas Jurco, Kyle Quincey, Mike Green, Tomas Tatar and Dylan Larkin all scored for the Wings, who had dropped games to the Panthers and Lightning since returning from the All Star break.
Pavel Datsyuk and Gustav Nyquist both tallied two assists.

The Wings started slowly but scored the important first goal.
Outshot 9-2 through 14:25 of the first period, they got a fine display of puck control and playmaking from Nyquist.
