Red Wings fans hoping to see more signs of life from their team got some consolation in the 5-2 loss. It was truly a one-goal game, as two of Ovechkin’s goals came with Wings goalie Jonathan Bernier on the bench.
The Wings lost their previous three games by a combined score of 14-1. They’ve lost in regulation during the last seven games of their nine-game winless streak.
