Quick Hits: Scary Situation with Philip Larsen and Red Wings Feeling Good Heading Home

Vancouver Canucks’ Philip Larsen takes skates to head while lying unconscious during melee; teammates try to protect him | National Post

In a terrifying scene last night, New Jersey Devils’ Taylor Hall hit Vancouver’s Philip Larsen leaving him [almost] instantly unconscious. Before anyone could get to Larsen to help him, his teammates rushed over to defend him while simultaneously narrowly avoiding hitting him with sticks and skates and piling on top of him.

Luckily, Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom had the good sense to stand over Larson to try and protect him while Markus Granlund tried to push the group away from him.
