Teemu Pulkkinen had given the Detroit Red Wings six goals when an injury waylaid him. Now he’s eager to catch up.
Pulkkinen will play for the first time in six weeks when the Wings host the Philadelphia Flyers Sunday night. Coach Jeff Blashill had Pulkkinen on the fourth line during Saturday’s practice, but he’ll get power play time, too, because one of Pulkkinen’s assets is his big right-handed shot.
“He can bring a real scoring threat to that other power play unit,” Blashill said.
