ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Petr Mrazek looked like the goaltender the Detroit Red Wings need him to be.
He made the big saves Wednesday at Honda Center to give his teammates a shot at winning, but their inability to score left the Wings ruing a 2-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. The Wings went 0-for-3 on the power play.
Brendan Smith went to the dressing room during the second period favoring his right leg after getting tangled up with Cam Fowler and falling. Smith had just come back four games earlier from a sprained right knee. He did not return, and neither did Niklas Kronwall after the second period, leaving the Wings with four defensemen.
