Metulla, ISRAEL — Slava Fetisov glided across the ice on Sunday afternoon, a red-and-white jersey with the No. 2 evoking memories of two-plus decades ago, when he helped lead the Detroit Red Wings to two Stanley Cup titles and the finals of another.
This time, the uniform front read “North Pole: The Last Game,” a project the Hall of Fame defenseman is leading with the United Nations to draw attention to the threat of global warming.
