The last Original Six Saturday night at Joe Louis Arena made for a festive, family affair as alumni arrived in town to be a part of the Joe’s farewell weekend. The game itself came up short as a turnover in overtime left the Detroit Red Wings with a 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in an atmosphere that was one to remember.

“I was wondering if Nick brought his gear,” Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “I thought it was awesome when he walked out.
