The National Hockey League announced Saturday that its investigation into the sexual abuse and grooming allegations against Tampa Bay Lightning forward and Michigan native Ian Cole found no evidence supporting the claims.
In a social media post, the NHL's public relations department wrote that the league's security and legal departments led the investigation after Twitter user Emily_Smith3333 posted a message on Oct. 7, accused Cole, a native of Ann Arbor and former member on the U.S. National Team Development Program, of assaulting her when she was in high school. The tweet remains the only one by the account, which was created in September.
