The Detroit Red Wings selected the USHL's leading goal scorer among their final three picks in Saturday's NHL Draft.
Right winger John Adams - who goes by Jack, just like the former Red Wings coach - was the first of Detroit's two sixth-round picks and the 162nd overall in the draft. Adams played for the USHL's Fargo Force last season.
The Red Wings also took defenseman Reilly Webb of the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs with the 164th pick and center Brady Gilmour of the Saginaw Spirit in the seventh round with the 193rd pick.
