After a dreadful 6-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, the Red Wings will have a key Eastern Conference match-up with the Rangers.
The Rangers enter Friday night’s game just one point out of a wild-card spot in the East and the Wings are holding onto third place in the Atlantic Divison. Both sides have played 22 games thus far this season with the Rangers at 24 points and the Wings at 23 points.
This will be the first of three meetings between the two teams this season. Last season the Rangers defeated the Wings twice on the road but the Wings won 2-1 at Madison Square Garden as their season series finished 1-1-1.
