Mrazek stellar, Red Wings blank Devils

Newark, N.J. — Terrific goaltending by Petr Mrazek, who looked consummately like his old self, and timely improvement to the penalty kill secured a Red Wings’ win Monday against the vastly improved Devils, 3-0.

Mrazek made several great stops throughout the game, especially shorthanded.

His blazing lateral speed in the crease toed the line but did not exceed the limits of control. Quick, he remained in position almost without exception.
The Wings got goals from Tyler Bertuzzi, his second of the season; David Booth, his fourth and Dylan Larkin, his eighth.

Booth had been placed on waivers earlier in the day, in part to keep Bertuzzi on the roster, but also to prepare for the return of injured players.
