Mike Green might not finish the season as a Detroit Red Wing, but he will represent the team at the NHL All-Star Game.
The league on Wednesday announced rosters for the Jan. 28 event Amalie Arena in Tampa (3:30 p.m., NBC). Green is Detroit's lone representative. The 13-year veteran defenseman will be making his second All-Star appearance, his first since 2011, when he played for the Washington Capitals.
This will be the third year of the NHL's three-on-three All-Star format, with each of the four divisions competing in two semifinal games before the championship game.
Green, 32 and in his third season with the Red Wings, leads Detroit defenseman with 24 points (four goals, 20 assists) and average ice time (22:39) in 41 games this season.
