The Detroit Red Wings regain their top offensive defenseman.
Mike Green declared himself ready to play for the Wings as they host the Colorado Avalanche (7:30 p.m., FSD) at Joe Louis Arena. The Avalanche played Thursday at Ottawa, winning, 4-3, to end a four-game losing skid.
Green missed the last two games after tweaking his groin.
"It feels good," he said. "Everything released, so I'm glad to be back."
Green bumps Jakub Kindl from the lineup, which is the only planned personnel move from the group that beat Ottawa on Wednesday. That means Petr Mrazek starting in goal, Green back with Brendan Smith, and the other defense pairings being Danny DeKeyser with Kyle Quincey and Jonathan Ericsson with Alexey Marchenko.
