Larkin’s Mentor And The Wings Continue To Play Hard

from Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,

A couple days ago, Dylan Larkin was talking to his dad when a teammate’s name came up.

As Larkin builds his resume with the Detroit Red Wings, he does so emulating the work put in over the years by Henrik Zetterberg.

“We were talking about the way he plays the game and the way he is so patient in a full 60-minute game,” Larkin said after contributing a goal and an assist in Thursday’s 6-3 victory over the Sabres. “He understands that a lot of nights, nothing is going to go on, if you play 20 minutes, for 19 minutes and 59 seconds.
