Dylan Larkin is having quite a world championship tournament.
The Red Wings forward had two assists Wednesday and goalie Jimmy Howard posted an easy shutout in Team USA’s 3-0 victory over Italy in Germany.
Howard only had to make nine saves, as Team USA (3-1-0) dominated the game, out-shooting Italy (0-3-1) 32-9.
Larkin, who had a subpar sophomore NHL season, leads Team USA with seven points (all assists), and a plus-6 plus-minus rating.
This is Larkin’s third consecutive appearance in the world championships on Team USA.
“I had a bitter taste in my mouth from the season just gone and I wanted to come over here,” Larkin told the International Ice Hockey Federation media website.
