GRAND RAPIDS – Just when it looked like they might stave off elimination one more time, the Grand Rapids Griffins saw their season come to an end.
The Detroit Red Wings’ AHL affiliate fell, 4-3, in overtime to Lake Erie in Game 6 of the Central Division Finals on Monday night.
After using a third-period comeback to win Game 4, and an offensive outpouring to win Game 5, the Griffins just didn’t have another season-saving win left in them.
