Another injury looms as the worst one yet for the Detroit Red Wings.
Jonathan Bernier will undergo tests on a lower body injury Monday, after which the Wings expect to have a better idea of how much time he will miss. His unavailability Sunday forced the Wings to rely on Jimmy Howard, who gave up five goals on 27 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres at Little Caesars Arena.
Bernier suffered a lower-body injury Friday against Ottawa, but practiced Saturday. When he woke up Sunday the injury “was way worse,” coach Jeff Blashill said.
