Detroit Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall might have been more excited for Joe Hicketts’ milestone than he was for his own.
Kronwall scored his 80th career goal and 400th career point in the Wings’ 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena.
Hicketts, playing in his second career NHL game, earned his first NHL point with an assist on Frans Nielsen’s power-play goal at 14:28 of the second period.
