The Detroit Red Wings have come to rely on Jimmy Howard to bail them out when needed.
They headed into Tuesday’s game at Washington having banked two points Monday at Little Caesars Arena because Howard made up for how uninspired his teammates played. The Wings defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 3-1, because Howard made 42 saves, 18 of them in the third period.
