The Detroit Red Wings put 42 shots on goal and beat the Boston Bruins, 5-1, in an exhibition game Wednesday night at Boston.
Kyle Criscuolo scored at 18:47 of the first period to put the Wings on top. Brendan Smith and Dylan Shadowy assisted.
Steve Ott scored 21 seconds later to give the Red Wings a 2-0 advantage they would take into the first intermission.
Drew Miller and Luke Glendening assisted.
Glendening gave the Red Wings a 3-0 lead with a goal at 10:51 of the second period. Brian Lashoff and Ott drew assists.
Anthony Mantha lifted the Wings to a 4-0 lead with a goal at 12:54 of the second.
