DETROIT - Jared Coreau will get another opportunity to earn his first win of the season for the Detroit Red Wings tonight, when he starts in the season finale against the New York Islanders at Little Caesars Arena.
"He's a pending unrestricted free agent," coach Jeff Blashill said. "We want to get as many looks at him as we possibly can. At this point we made the decision, let's have look at him."
Coreau is 0-5-0, with a 4.35 goals-against average and .859 save percentage.
Coreau will be assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the next few days and will try to help the AHL club defend its Calder Cup championship.
