Plymouth — So far, at this week of hockey in August, the audience sits almost entirely in the top few rows of the 3,500-seat bowl around the NHL-sized ice surface in USA Hockey Arena.
They ignore ample seating below.
Fans normally walk through the doors and down the aisles closer to players’ benches and the ice, for games. But, as Canada skated against Finland, grappling with the Finn’s cloaking defense, everyone remained near the top for all three periods.
They were not fans.
They have all seen a lot of hockey and appreciate the perspective of higher sight angles.
