For two months, Jonathan Bernier has proven his value to the Detroit Red Wings.
The Wings take on the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday having won two of their past three games, both of them with Bernier in goal. His play since Dec. 12 has provided a measure of stability during a season where not much has gone right.
They worked hard Sunday at Little Caesars Arena in a matinee against the Boston Bruins and were rewarded with a 3-1 victory, but the talent discrepancy was evident as the Bruins ran up a 40-20 edge in shots.
