The Red Wings will have at least three prospects on the roster. Three of them & coach Jeff Blashill explain why. Little Caesars Arena, Sept. 30, 2018.
The Detroit Red Wings trimmed their roster over the weekend, but two prospects were kept for their potential to boost the power play.
Michael Rasmussen and Dennis Cholowski are among the young players who will play when the Wings open the 2018-19 season Thursday.
Forward Christoffer Ehn also made the cut, and one or more of defensive prospects — Joe Hicketts, Filip Hronek and Libor Sulak — could be needed as veterans Niklas Kronwall, Trevor Daley and Jonathan Ericsson remain questionable with injuries entering the season.
