MILWAUKEE — In their first game of six consecutive on the road, the Grand Rapids Griffins earned a 3-2 shootout win over the Milwaukee Admirals at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Saturday’s matchup saw Matt Puempel score once during regulation and again in a shootout to close scoring, while Harri Sateri finished the night with 30 saves for first-star honors. The effort was aided by a stellar second period in which the penalty kill unit finished 4-for-4 and limited the Admirals (26-24-13-2) to just three shots through 20 minutes.
The win moves Grand Rapids (34-18-6-4) into a tie with the Iowa Wild for second in Central Division standings with 78 points.
