The Arizona Coyotes will speak with Grand Rapids Griffins coach Todd Nelson about their coaching vacancy.
Sources confirmed to MLive on Tuesday that the Detroit Red Wings have granted permission to the Coyotes to speak with Nelson.
The Edmonton Journal's Jim Matheson first tweeted that Nelson would be contacted by the team after the Coyotes and coach Dave Tippett mutually agreed to part ways Thursday after eight seasons.
