It was a special night for the Griffins as the defending Calder Cup champions raised their new championship banner in front of the home fans.
What followed was a brilliant display by the Griffins as they started off the regular season with a 5-2 win over the Moose.
How it Happened
The first period couldn’t have gone any better for the Griffins with three goals coming in less than 10 minutes. Defenseman Ryan Sproul opened the scoring as Dominic Turgeon and Colin Campbell added the proceeding goals for the home side.
Manitoba would tally the first goal of the second period with Cam Maclise finding the back of the net.
