Grand Rapids Griffins Fall to Manitoba Moose

Things didn’t go the Griffins way at Van Andel Arena with a 7-2 loss to the Moose leaving a sour note to the end of the first weekend of regular season play for the AHL side.

How it Happened

A goal-filled first period saw the Griffins enter the first intermission down 3-1. Kyle Connor would score two consecutive goals for the Moose after Brendan Lemieux scored the first goal of the game.

Robbie Russo would score his first goal of the season on the power play to get the Griffins on the board.

It appeared the Griffins might get back into the game at the beginning of the second period when Brian Lashoff scored to bring the home side within one.
