Red Wings director of player development Shawn Horcoff on top prospects' performances at development camp June 30, 2018 at Little Caesars Arena.
Over the weekend the Detroit Red Wings added depth on defense, at forward and in goal.
They re-signed defenseman Mike Green for two years, $10.75 million, brought in free agent goaltender Jonathan Bernier on a three-year, $9 million deal and brought back free agent forward Thomas Vanek for one year at $3 million.
All three fill needs: Bernier will share the net with Jimmy Howard, Green provides much-needed offense from the back end, and Vanek is a consistent 20-goal scorer who will help a team desperate for production.
