Gordie Howe's children: No grudges toward Morouns over bridge opposition

Mark Howe, son of Detroit Red Wings legend Gordie Howe, knows the significance of a bridge being named after his father.

And it's not something he takes lightly.

"I live in New Jersey, not far from Philadelphia, and I use bridges all the time," Mark said Friday. "I go over the Walt Whitman (bridge), the Ben Franklin and the Betsy Ross. If you look at American history, those are three of the biggest names. For anybody to have their name on a bridge, it's pretty awesome."

With the new Gordie Howe International Bridge between Detroit and Windsor planned for construction, that honor could become reality for Mr.
