In the second of eight exhibition games ahead of the regular season opener Oct. 9, the Detroit Red Wings host the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks tonight at Joe Louis Arena.
Last night in both teams' exhibition opener, the Wings rallied from a 4-1 third period deficit, but fell 5-4 in overtime to the Blackhawks in Chicago.
The Blackhawks built a 3-0 lead until Anthony Mantha, the Wings' first-round pick in the 2013 NHL entry draft, put the Wings on the board.
Ryan Garbutt scored to boost Chicago's lead to 4-1, but the Wings scored three unanswered goals.
