DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today agreed to terms with goaltender Filip Larsson on a three-year entry-level contract. The contract will begin with the 2019-20 season.
Larsson, 20, recently completed his freshman season at the University of Denver, where he helped the Pioneers make an appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four after posting back-to-back shutouts in the West Regional. After missing nearly all of the first two months of Denver’s season due to injury, Larsson made his college debut on Nov. 24 and was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s Goaltender of the Month for December, in his first full month of collegiate action, and also captured NCHC Goalie of the Week honors on Jan.
