Defenseman Filip Hronek set a record for the Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday with an overtime goal to defeat the Iowa Wild, 3-2.
The third-year pro became the first player in franchise history to record an overtime goal in back-to-back games. He also netted the OT winner Saturday against the Chicago Wolves, 4-3.
After the Wild scored late in the third period to force overtime, the Griffins took advantage after Iowa's Brennan Menell was penalized for roughing at 1:05. With 12 seconds left on the power play, Carter Camper sent the puck to Hronek in the left circle and he finished off the game with a one-timer.
