BATH – Drew Miller is happy the Grand Rapids Griffins won the Calder Cup, but he wasn't happy he spent some time on their team last season.
The 33-year-old forward signed a one-year, $1.025 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings last off-season, but he was waived after 35 games. He cleared waivers and ended up in Grand Rapids. He played seven games in the AHL before he got recalled by the Wings, where he played 20 more games.
"Obviously, it wasn't where I wanted to be, but I just tried to make the most of it," Miller said before Drew Stanton's celebrity golf tournament last month at Hawk Hollow Golf Course.
