Over the previous two days I’ve analyzed and tried to predict both the defensive and forward lineups for the Detroit Red Wings in preparation of the upcoming 2015-2016 NHL season. To complete the Hockeytown triumvirate I will take a look at one the most pressing questions facing new head coach Jeff Blashill in his first season with the Red Wings, “Who will start between the pipes for Detroit on opening night?”
Unlike the numerous roster options the Red Wings have at both the blue-line and the front-lines, there are only two clear choices to start in-goal for the Wings (many may say only one), Jimmy Howard and Petr Mrazek.
