Detroit Red Wings wake up in time to knock off Anaheim Ducks, 3-1

The game was an exercise in patience.

Neither the Detroit Red Wings nor the Anaheim Ducks had much going offensively Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena.

It took more than half the game before anyone scored. The Wings finally stirred in the third period, enough to bank a 3-1 victory for consecutive wins for the first time since Dec. 1.

The Wings didn’t look as energetic as the group that played fast and got traffic in front of the opposing goal in their previous outing. Their best line through 40 minutes was Jacob de la Rose’s with Justin Abdelkader and Christoffer Ehn.
