The Detroit Red Wings will begin their first round series in a hole as they drop game one 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Alex Killorn scored the game-winning goal on a tip-in in front that beat Jimmy Howard.
Nikita Kucherov started the scoring with a wicked one-timer that beat Jimmy Howard high to put Tampa up 1-0. The Red Wings responded with two quick two goals from Mike Green and a redirect in front of the net by Justin Abdelkader off a shot by Kyle Quincey.
Kucherov would score his second of the game after Jimmy Howard failed to corral a rebound and Kucherov batted it in to the back of the net for his second of the game.
